Big Changes and Great Po-Boys
Wow, a LOT can happen in a few weeks. It took me about a year to make the decision to, well, make a decision. But once I made the decision stuff started happening really fast. More on this later...
Right now I have food on my mind. This place in particular:
This is Ray's PeGe West, in West Monroe. Doesn't look like much, does it? In fact, my beloved hubby told me this building used to be a Circle K. He had been trying to get me to eat at Pege's with him for a couple of years, and said they made the best po-boys EVER. But for some reason when we were in the vicinity of Monroe/ West Monroe we always ended up eating somewhere else.
A few weeks ago, though, we made plans to see a show at the Strauss Theater where my fabulous friends Jon and Greg Baccharini (The Baccharini Brothers... sounds like a traveling trapeze act, doesn't it?) use their unbelievable talents to bring Broadway to the community theater. So, we decided to make a day of it, starting with lunch at Pege's.
OH.... MY... GOSH!
I don't know what those nice people do back in that kitchen, but I am telling you without any exaggeration whatsoever that the turkey po-boy I ate was heaven on a styrofoam plate. It melted in my mouth. It was so incredibly good that we have now eaten there 3 times in a week and a half. And I would eat there again tonight if I could.
I you are ever in West Monroe, I highly recommend you make a stop at Ray's PeGe West. Here is the website: http://rayspege.com/ .
Now about all the changes... I will blog about it in a day or two. I just don't want to jinx anything yet! But it's all good. Really, really good!
