So much to do, so little time...

I've written a couple of half-posts in the past few weeks that I intended to finish, but now everything in them seems out of date. So I'll just write this to tell you what's been going on:

Court (don't ask), Freshmen ball game, church choir, varsity ball game, church - teach Sunday school - more church, freshmen ball game, record church choir CD (two nights), doctor in Shreveport, record commercials in Shreveport, varsity game, church - SS- more church, court AGAIN (you really don't wanna know), style show rehearsal, style show, varsity game, church - SS- more church, freshmen game, book club...

And here we are! Tonight is church choir, tomorrow I'll work, and record some voiceovers in Monroe, and at night I have somewhere to go with the hubby.

Whew!

Because I don't have a lot to say about all of the things I've done in the past few weeks, (or actually I have too much to say to write it all down) I will leave you with a quote regarding time, since it's the one thing of which I can't seem to find enough.

Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists and expires.

Hi Linnea,
As usual this little slice of my Shreveport southern past is so much fun to read. What an exceptional writing talent you are. Your husband has that gift as well if your married to whom I think your married to. As a veteran engineer with General Motors, who has spent an entire lifetime trying to manage work time, production time , my own personal "me" time.. It often becomes just a lesson in futility. Failure to manage and prioritize my time probably even cost me my marriage down there in Shreveport But alas, things can always be worse I guess considering the alternative.

I just have to tell you that I took the time tonite to look at some of your "you tube " videos of you performing. Until tonite I had never heard you sing. I viewed quite a few vids and enjoyed them all but the ones that were off the charts exciting to me were the vids when you were performing with that 8 track band.. Unbelievable..You can literally sing anything..I know your tired of hearing it but Im just going to say it to you too.. some one should have signed you up. Your church is so lucky to have you ... I wish I could have seen you perform live when I was there. I made many trips to the Horsehoe casino night club when I lived there in Bossier City but never saw "8 - track " . I'm going to have to make a trip down to Shreveport the next time your doing one of your benefit concerts or something..just gives me another reason to visit old friends and even ,, an ex wife... that is ..If I can find the time .haaa.

Take care

Thanks, Rick! Wow!

Yes, I'm married to Teddy Allen. He is a tremendous writer and a wonderful husband. I don't have even half the writing talent he has. But I enjoy writing when I have the time and have something to write about.

This blog really just started as a way to keep my family and a few friends updated on what's going on in my life (and my brain!) and to give me a place to practice my writing skills. People rarely comment on it, so just for giggles I decided to put a hit counter on the page to see how many people are actually reading it. It still surprises me to know how many folks stop by!

Thank you for all of your kind words about my singing. And you're right... I've sung just about every genre of music out there. The thing is... it's a God-given blessing. And for a long time I took it for granted. Only recently have I realized how important it is to use this talent in the way God intended. So that's where my focus is now.

Take care up there! And good luck on that visit to the ex! ;)
